Museum Launches Giving Circles

Advocates for the Children’s Museum of Phoenix gathered at the Arcadia home of Tracey and Sam Perry on April 5 to kick off Leadership Giving Circles, the newly established annual giving program for the organization that understands that “play is serious business.”

Acting on the principle that learning is joy, the museum’s mission is to engage the minds, muscles and imaginations of children and the grownups who care about them, while promoting cooperative interaction, fostering cultural understanding and enhancing parenting skills.

Board members, Leadership Giving Circles donors and guests enjoyed a catered cocktail hour before learning how their support of the museum benefits children and families throughout the Phoenix community.

Sam Perry, co-chair of the Leadership Giving Circles committee with his wife, Tracey, spoke of his passion for the Children’s Museum, “Tracey and I have spent many hours playing in the museum with our children and have seen, firsthand, the impact it has had on their development. We launched this program to lay the foundation for a strong and healthy museum in the same way the museum makes all of our children strong and healthy.”

Debbie Gilpin, museum CEO, reminded the crowd that individuals can move mountains by taking small steps together toward a common goal.

Gifts received through Leadership Giving Circles will support the hands-on, interactive exhibits and programming that focus on early learning through play with emphasis on early childhood education and school readiness.
