Join us for an engaging 30-minute curator talk with Heard Museum Collections Coordinator, Olivia Barney (Diné/Navajo), where you’ll dive deeper into the artistry and creative processes behind Majestic Figures: Contemporary Sculptures by Native American Artists.

This talk offers a unique opportunity to explore the artists, themes, and techniques that shape the collection. Whether you’re an art lover or simply curious, you’ll gain new insights into Indigenous art.

Come ready to ask questions and experience the artwork in a whole new way!

About the Curator:
Olivia Barney (Diné/Navajo) is a member of the Curatorial department at the Heard Museum. She began her career at the museum as an Andrew W. Mellon Fellow and since then has transitioned into the role of Collections Coordinator. She is the curator for the Art & Sole exhibition at the Heard Museum and was a co-curator for The North Star Changes: Works by Brenda Mallory. Outside of her curatorial work, Ms. Barney is an artist, as well. Her artwork has been included in multiple exhibitions, featured on WOSU-PBS’s Broad & High, and in journals by Michigan State University Press, The University of Manitoba, Red Rising Magazine, Native Realities Press, and Columbus Monthly magazine.
