Carrington College Students Pack Food to Provide 52K+ Meals

Earlier this month, 172 Carrington College students from the North Phoenix campus volunteered at St. Mary’s Food Bank in honor of Red Nose Day, an awareness campaign that has aimed to end child poverty since 1988.
The students packed 4,184 emergency food boxes filled with 63,360 pounds of food that will provide 52,800 meals to those in need. The food boxes are party of St. Mary’s Kid Café School Pantry and Backpack Programs, which provides Arizona families with nearly 6,000 meals each day.
The campus also conducted a food drive in advance of Red Nose Day.
There are currently 66 million children around the world facing food insecurity, and nearly one in three children in Arizona struggle from hunger.
