Zurich Chamber Orchestra Brings Classic and Contemporary to Scottsdale

The Zurich Chamber Orchestra will perform Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” as well as the recent rewrite of the score, “Vivaldi Recomposed” by British composer Max Richter at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, March 24.
The Zurich Chamber Orchestra is a Switzerland-based group that was founded in 1945 by conductor Edmond de Stoutz. It is currently led by music director Daniel Hope, who will perform violin solos during both pieces at the upcoming concert.
The orchestra has recorded for numerous labels, including Omega, Novalis, Claves, Teldec, CPO and Sony.
Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” was originally published in 1725 and includes the concertos “Spring,” “Summer,” “Autumn” and “Winter.”
“Vivaldi Recomposed” was written in 2012 and includes postmodern elements. It was composer Richter’s attempt to bring Vivaldi’s original piece into the future.
