Child Crisis Goes Hawaiian for Annual Gala, Raises Funds for Expansion

The Event: Child Crisis Arizona Blue Hawaii Gala

The Cause: Child Crisis Arizona

Event Date: April 15, 2023

Location: JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn

Islander Sponsors: United Healthcare | Tricia & Calum DeSouza

Legacy of Love Honoree: Janis Merrill

Dollars Raised: $900,000

Entertainment: The Royal Islanders

Emcee & Auctioneer: Brett Higgins

Notable Moments: The island-inspired theme was by design and in homage to several long-time partners and supporters from the most beloved galas of the past. As such, those who attended were encouraged to wear tropical attire, especially in hues of blue. In addition to all of the fun, the attendees were thrilled to hear that a new 38,000-square-foot campus expansion is expected to be completed in 2024. Spanning 2.4 acres, the two-story complex – complete with an urban garden, sensory and play therapy rooms, volunteer center and medical screen space – will be among the first net-zero construction projects in Arizona, meaning it will generate as much energy as it consumes. We can’t wait for the ribbon cutting!
