Phoenix Children’s Launches Legacy Challenge to Turn Future Gifts Into Immediate Impact

Phoenix Children’s is inviting supporters to think about the future while making an immediate difference for children and families across Arizona through its new Legacy Challenge campaign.

The planned-giving initiative allows donors who include Phoenix Children’s Foundation in a will, trust, retirement plan beneficiary designation, life insurance policy or other qualifying planned gift to unlock an immediate contribution equal to 10 percent of their future gift, up to $25,000, made in their honor. The campaign will run for up to 18 months, or until the full $1 million in available matching funds has been unlocked.

For many families, legacy planning is about more than financial assets. It can carry forward personal values, compassion, and a desire to help others. Through the Legacy Challenge, donors can make a future commitment while helping provide critical support to children today. Every legacy gift helps Phoenix Children’s advance lifesaving research, innovative treatments and specialized care, helping create healthier futures for children and strengthen the well-being of generations to come.

Donors participating in the challenge can direct the matching funds toward one of four strategic priorities: pediatric research, behavioral health, patient family assistance programs or the Hope Fund, which supports the hospital’s area of greatest need. The opportunity is also available to donors who have already established an estate gift but have not previously shared it with Phoenix Children’s. Those gifts may qualify for the challenge, allowing donors to maximize their impact today while helping create a sustainable future for the organization.

Participating is designed to be straightforward. Donors document their planned gift and complete a notification form. Once the gift is confirmed, Phoenix Children’s makes the matching contribution in the donor’s honor, creating an immediate benefit while preserving the donor’s long-term charitable legacy.
