The Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) has promoted Taylor Pineda to chief community impact officer, adding her to the foundation’s Executive Leadership Team as it continues advancing philanthropic initiatives throughout the state. Pineda has led ACF’s community impact work in an interim capacity over the past four months, bringing greater collaboration and alignment to the foundation’s community impact and marketing and communications teams. During that time, she has continued advancing ACF’s strategic priorities and strengthening its relationships with communities across Arizona.

Since joining ACF as vice president of community engagement and impact in October 2024, Pineda has built and led a team focused on education, affordable housing, environmental initiatives, grantmaking and nonprofit engagement. Under her leadership, the foundation has advanced its strategic approach to philanthropy, including the development of a new education strategy designed to create meaningful, long-term community impact. Her work has also helped connect these priorities with the nonprofits, donors, community members and partners who make that progress possible.

“I am very proud of Taylor and this well-earned promotion. At Arizona Community Foundation, community is our middle name, and as Chief Community Impact Officer, Taylor is now at the core of that promise, ensuring that the needs of our communities are heard and served,” president and CEO Anna María Chávez said. “As ACF continues to grow and evolve, we need leaders who can think strategically, work collaboratively across the organization, and translate our aspirations into measurable impact for Arizona. Taylor has shown those qualities throughout her time at ACF, and I am confident she will bring an important perspective and voice to our Executive Leadership Team. We couldn’t have a better person to lead this work.”

For Pineda, the role represents an opportunity to continue serving communities while building on the foundation’s existing philanthropic efforts.

“I’m incredibly honored to serve the beautiful state of Arizona and our donors. I believe in the power of community, and where there is intention and focus, we can truly make a difference. I’m grateful to work alongside an incredibly talented team, and I’m excited about the opportunities ahead in education, environment, and housing, and in strengthening the nonprofit sector more broadly, to continue making Arizona a place to call home for generations to come,” she said.

Pineda brings experience in higher education and nonprofit leadership to her new position. Before joining ACF, she spent five years at Arizona State University, serving as senior national director for ASU Local. In that role, she led a team of more than 25 professionals across the country and helped develop and expand a program designed to bring higher education opportunities directly to students in the communities where they live and work. Earlier in her career, Pineda served as strategy and evaluation manager at Chicanos Por La Causa.

Pineda will help guide ACF’s efforts to address community needs through strategic philanthropy, strengthen Arizona’s nonprofit sector and support initiatives intended to create lasting opportunities for communities throughout the state. For more behind this Frontdoor, visit azfoundation.org.
