For nearly two decades, Grand Canyon Conservancy‘s Celebration of Art has invited people to experience one of the world’s most iconic landscapes through the eyes of artists. But this annual event is about far more than beautiful paintings. It is a powerful example of how creativity can inspire philanthropy and help protect one of America’s greatest treasures.

Now in its 18th year, Celebration of Art returns to Grand Canyon National Park September 25–27, 2026, bringing together a distinguished group of artists from across the country for a week of painting, photography, and artistic exploration along the South Rim. This year’s theme, Earth Mapping, encourages artists to interpret the canyon’s vast geology, changing light, and cultural significance in personal ways, creating works that reveal not just what the canyon looks like, but what it means.

Founded in 2009, Celebration of Art brings juried artists to the South Rim to create works inspired by the canyon en plein air.

Visitors have the opportunity to watch artists create in the landscape itself during the week leading up to the exhibition. Conversations happen naturally along the rim as painters capture the shifting colors of sunrise, photographers wait patiently for perfect light, and artists share how Grand Canyon influences their work. These moments offer a deeper connection to the landscape and often become as memorable as the finished artwork.

Saturday’s Collectors’ Reception, where guests get early access to purchase original works inspired by Grand Canyon, is the capstone event of the weekend, followed by the public opening of the Celebration of Art Exhibition and Sale at historic Kolb Studio on Sunday, September 27. Each purchase represents more than an investment in fine art; it is an investment in the future of the park itself.

Proceeds from Celebration of Art support the creation of a dedicated art venue at Grand Canyon National Park.

The Exhibition and Sale run through March 31, 2027, at Kolb Studio on the South Rim and online at grandcanyon.org/coa. Proceeds from Celebration of Art support Grand Canyon Conservancy, the official nonprofit partner of Grand Canyon National Park, and help advance the vision for a permanent Grand Canyon art venue.

Whether you are an avid collector, a passionate supporter of the arts, or someone who believes in preserving our shared natural heritage, Celebration of Art offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact. Every conversation with an artist, every visit to the exhibition, and every work of art purchased helps ensure that Grand Canyon continues to inspire future generations – both on its rim and through the artists who tell its story.
