Desert Botanical Garden to Unveil Immersive Super Bloom Art Experience

Fall is about to look a whole lot more colorful at Desert Botanical Garden, which will unveil Super Bloom by Graphic Rewilding on October 9. The immersive art experience will surround visitors with oversized desert flowers, colors and larger-than-life botanical illustrations across 21 locations throughout the garden.

Designed to be experienced both day and night, Super Bloom will feature walk-through colored-glass houses and monumental illustrations inspired by desert plants and pollinators. During the day, visitors can explore towering blooms and colorful floral environments while discovering a new artistic perspective on the Sonoran Desert. After dark, the installations will take on a different character as vivid light, color and shadow transform the trails and plant collections.

The exhibition is designed to encourage visitors of all ages to connect with nature and experience the beauty of desert plants in an entirely new way. By combining art and horticulture, Super Bloom also aims to promote wellness through nature and invite visitors to explore the garden with a sense of curiosity and wonder.

The debut of Super Bloom will kick off an expanded fall season, with festivals, weekly experiences, live music, seasonal plant displays and the return of outdoor programming as Arizona’s weather begins to cool. Running throughout October and November, the fall lineup is designed to give visitors reasons to return throughout the week, from cool morning visits to evenings filled with art, music and colorful displays.

Among the seasonal experiences are Fall Butterflies from September 26 through November 22, Fall Garden After Dark from October 1 through November 15 and seasonal fall plant and décor displays from October 1 through November 15. Super Bloom will remain on view through May 31, 2027.

Visitors will also find a new weekly rhythm beginning the week of October 9. Mondays will feature Uncorked Mondays: Sips, Strolls & Sounds, Tuesdays will bring Tacos & Tequila in the Garden and Wednesdays will offer Dogs in the Garden: Nights. Thursdays will feature Sunset Socials: Create, Play & Dance, Fridays will bring Music in the Garden on select dates and Saturdays will offer Dogs in the Garden: Days.

Families can explore Cactus Clubhouse from October 10 through December 3, while Storytime will take place on select dates in October and November. Adults can participate in Adult Education and Desert Views: A Conversation Series on October 28 and Pay What You Can Community Days will offer opportunities for the community to visit.
