A longtime Arizona tradition is returning to the Valley to help strengthen the lives of local youth. Paul’s Car Wash, hosted by Arizona’s Family weather anchor and community ambassador Paul Horton, will take place October 22 and 23, at Desert Ridge Marketplace, with proceeds supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona (BBBSAZ). Now in its 19th year, the annual fundraiser combines live television, entertainment, celebrity appearances and hands-on volunteerism to raise awareness and support for youth mentoring.

From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days, corporate teams and community volunteers will roll up their sleeves to wash hundreds of cars, helping provide young people across Arizona with access to caring, consistent adult mentors.

BBBSAZ serves more than 1,500 Arizona children each year through professionally supported mentoring relationships that help young people build confidence, develop meaningful connections and realize their potential. Through its one-to-one mentoring model, the organization pairs adult volunteers, known as “Bigs,” with youth, called “Littles,” to build relationships that encourage personal growth and create opportunities for a brighter future.

“Paul’s Car Wash brings our community together around something that matters: ensuring young people have the support and encouragement they need to reach their full potential,” President and CEO Debbie Castillo-Smith said. “We’re grateful to Paul Horton, Arizona’s Family, and the businesses and volunteers who continue to make this event possible. Their support helps us create more opportunities for meaningful mentoring relationships across our community.”

The event relies on the generosity of corporate partners, community sponsors, volunteers and Arizona’s Family to make its mission possible. This year’s sponsors include TechBros, Fry’s Food Stores, Crest Insurance, W. L. Gore, Albertsons Companies and Safeway, Copper State Pavement, Lerner & Rowe, Amazon, LifeKind Health and Charles Schwab. Beyond the cars washed and funds raised, the event highlights the role community partnerships can play in helping young people access the guidance and encouragement they need to thrive.

With nearly two decades of support behind it, Paul’s Car Wash continues to bring together businesses and residents around a shared commitment to the next generation. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona has served the community for more than 70 years as part of the nation’s largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network.
