The Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children (ACFC) received a surprise $250,000 donation from the Dahmen Family Foundation during a special presentation in October, supporting the nonprofit’s capital campaign and its efforts to provide a welcoming space for children with cancer and their families. The gift includes sponsorship of a dedicated room at ACFC’s facility, designed to offer children and their loved ones a safe place to connect and find support while navigating a cancer diagnosis.

The Arizona-based nonprofit works to ensure families facing pediatric cancer do not have to navigate the experience alone. Its programs provide social, emotional and financial resources to children with cancer and their families throughout the state. Services range from onsite counseling to tutoring, helping ease the everyday challenges associated with treatment while allowing children to continue enjoying childhood.

“We are beyond humbled and deeply grateful to Joel Dahmen and the Dahmen Family Foundation for this extraordinary gift,” ACFC President and Founder Chrisie Abramo said. “This generous commitment will create a lasting impact for our warriors. Having Joel and his family’s support means the world not only to us but to the children and parents we serve every single day.”

ACFC and PGA Tour professional Joel Dahmen have partnered for several years. Following the foundation’s support of the nonprofit’s annual gala and golf events, the latest contribution deepens the family foundation’s commitment to the organization. For Dahmen, the cause is personal. A cancer survivor who lost his mother to the disease, he has a firsthand connection to the challenges families face when cancer affects a loved one.

The donation also comes as ACFC prepares for two upcoming fundraising events: the Ava’s Treehouse Gala in November and Joel Jam 2026 in December. The contribution supports the nonprofit’s ongoing efforts to expand its resources and create spaces where children and families can find connection, comfort and hope throughout their cancer journeys.
