Navigating a Crisis with A New Leaf

A New Leaf has been helping Arizona families overcome crisis for more than 50 years and is one of Arizona’s largest local nonprofits. For Vice President of Philanthropy Laura Bode helping people get back on their feet is personal. Overcoming a childhood filled with domestic violence she knows the physical, mental, emotional and financial toll crisis can take. The past year alone the staff and volunteers at A New Leaf have helped over 22,000 Arizonans with a safe place to sleep, food to eat, financial assistance, healthcare and education. What’s more, they work toward preventing abuse, homelessness and other community challlenges that can lead to crisis in the first place. Laura joins Carey Pena for a compassionate and timely conversation.
