Dorothy M. Schultz
Dorothy M. Schultz, mother of Dottie Kobik, died July 19, 2012, in Scottsdale, Ariz. Dot was born to Mary and William A. McDowell Sr. on Feb. 22, 1919, in Philadelphia, and grew up in New Jersey. Dot graduated in 1936 from Haddon Heights High School.
After graduation, she worked in the Philadelphia area and on May 21, 1942, married Henry “Dutch” Schultz of Tacony, a historic neighborhood in northeast Philadelphia. They had two children, Richard Henry and Dorothy Jane (Kobik).
In 1958, the family moved to Southampton, Pa., where Dot lived until 2011, when she moved to Arizona to be with her daughter, Dottie Kobik. A homemaker with interests in sewing, crocheting, gardening and tending to her family, she was a devoted wife and mother.
Dot lived in Arizona until her death at age 93. She loved living in Arizona and enjoyed the beauty of the desert and the view of McDowell Mountains from her new home.
