In the 1970s, when Philadelphia Eagles football player Fred Hill’s daughter was treated for Leukemia at a children’s hospital in Philadelphia, his family was shocked by the number of families sleeping on the floors of waiting rooms and even their children’s rooms. There were no options to be close to their sick child. It was this moment that the idea behind Ronald McDonald House Charities was born.
Since 1974, the nonprofit has welcomed families whose children are facing serious medical challenges to stay at a Ronald McDonald House while their child undergoes treatment. The situation is hard enough, now families can be in a comfortable place during those toughest days.
This year’s event chairs are Scott and Lanette Harris. The Harris’ believe that when we open our hearts to helping others, everyone benefits. Join them and others by opening your heart and giving the gift of a home-away-from-home to families at a time when a home is exactly what their family needs.
Get to know the chairs…they are:

Led by… fellow Ronald House board members who are doing amazing work of helping families in their time of need.
