Assistance League Gala Helps Children In Need

The Assistance League of Phoenix celebrated its 46th annual Celebration of Caring with a Havana Nights themed gala fundraiser on Saturday, April 1 at the Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Montelucia. The event raised more than $300,000 for the nonprofit.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the work of the Assistance League of Phoenix, which works to improve the lives of over 50,000 children and families in need each year through five philanthropic programs. This event marked the 30th anniversary of the Operation School Bell program, which now provides uniform packages and hygiene supplies to thousands of students.

The event also honored two “caring couples,” Lattie and Elva Coor and Ed and Verma Pastor. All four individuals are Arizona natives known for their commitment to improving the education of Arizona students.
