Season for Sharing Goal Within Reach
This year's Season for Sharing campaign is inching closer to its goal and your help is crucial now more than ever.
The campaign is about $52,000 shy of the $2.66 million target amount, with one week left in the campaign. Donations through The Arizona Republic and 12 News' annual campaign help more than 135 local non-profit agencies provide critical services to the most vulnerable among us.
This year's campaign wraps up next Sunday (Jan. 15).
All the money raised through the annual campaign goes toward programs that help improve educational skills and aid at-risk children and families, victims of domestic violence, and the elderly.
Photo: In 2009-2010, Season for Sharing provided Belen and her classmates at Sunnyslope Elementary School a true back-to-school shopping experience. Because of Assistance League of Phoenix’s Operation School Bell, they received brand new jumpers, blouses, socks and shoes, backpacks and books. With new clothes, supplies and confidence, they started third grade ready to learn.
