Salvation Army Makes a Splash With New Center

With its sprays, slides and lazy river, the indoor water park at the new Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center was all the rage.

At Saturday’s grand opening, the water park was the first thing kids noticed walking into the lobby of the facility, 1375 E. Broadway Road.

The state-of-the-art 147,000-square-foot facility – with South Mountain as the backdrop – is an oasis for the community and people of all ages, said Ted McClure, chairman of the Kroc Center advisory council.
