Sally Fields Winton

Sally Fields Winton of Atlanta, Ga., formally of Phoenix, Ariz., passed away Dec. 8, 2011. She was born in Phoenix to the late Clarence and Mamie Chamberlin Fields.

 

She and her husband, Mal, founded Winton Sales Co. in 1954 and built it into one of the largest frozen food brokerage firms in the industry.

 

Her philanthropic activities involved funding a library on the Arizona State University campus and founding a home for autistic adults in McAllen, Texas.

 

Sally was a sports enthusiast. She was active in the Georgia Thoroughbred Racing Association. She also owned and campaigned thoroughbred racehorses in the 1960s.
