PV Plans Bronze Statue of Keane’s Characters

For many people, as American cartoonists go, Bil Keane captured wholesome family life better than any of them – with flairs of joy and reverence.

Now, Paradise Valley, where Keane lived and created the “Family Circus” comic strip for more than 50 years, is beginning the process to honor him nearly a year after his death.

Paradise Valley officials are moving forward with a proposal to memorialize the “Family Circus” cartoonist with a bronze sculpture of his beloved characters.
