Nadine Gregory Pace

Nadine Gregory Pace passed away on Aug. 3, 2011. She was born in Kahoka, Mo., to Hollis and Pauline Gregory (Pullins) on Dec. 28, 1935.

Nadine was raised in the Independence and Kansas City, Mo., area, and graduated from Central High School. She then attended the University of Kansas, where she met her loving husband John.

After many memorable years in Independence, Nadine and John moved to Carmel, Calif., in 1985, and later to Scottsdale, Ariz. Nadine and John marked their 50th wedding anniversary in Carmel in 2009, where they were joined by their sons Brad, an attorney in Kansas City, and Scott, a financial writer in San Francisco, for a wonderful celebration.

Nadine learned rather late in life, through the research of her sister-in-law Beth Gregory, that she was a descendent of George Soule, a passenger on the Mayflower voyage to America in 1620. She also was proud of her work with the Independence Junior Service league, and of her fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days program.
