Lorraine Combs

Lorraine Combs passed away March 6, 2012, in her home in Mesa, Ariz. She was born Oct. 28, 1921, in Linn Grove, Iowa, to Everett and Gladys Evans.

She lived in Sioux City and Spencer, Iowa, for 45 years before moving to Mesa in 1966, where she served as program director for the Mesa YMCA and later as a fundraiser for the United Way.

She served as president of the Mesa chapter of Soroptimists and was instrumental in developing many of today's community leaders through her Leadership Club program at the YMCA. She will be missed by both her immediate family and the many members of her extended "bridge" family.
