Francis J. Sorg, Jr.

Francis (Frank) J. Sorg, Jr. 89, of Scottsdale, passed away Feb. 3, 2011. Born in the Bronx, he was the oldest and last surviving child of Emily and Francis Sorg.

Frank was a successful businessman, financier, philanthropist and family man. In his early days on Wall Street at Sorg (Financial) Printing Co. with his first wife Florence of 35 years, he launched a life of adventure as he became involved with nonprofit hospitals, politics, the entertainment world and international businesses.

For many years, the family lived in Manhasset, and he was the last surviving founding board member of North Shore University Hospital, on Long Island.

Frank and his wife Mary Ann moved to Sedona in 1990, and then relocated to north Scottsdale. He always dreamed of a life in the Southwest.

He was also a loyal friend to many, even from his school days, and will be greatly missed by his Arizona friends, too.
