Carnevale d’Italia

The 2013 Galaxy Gala to support the Arizona Science Center was officially kicked off by the committee Nov. 13. This year's theme and title is the Arizona Science Center Galaxy Gala 2013 Carnevale d’Italia A Celebration of Innovation.

The Feb. 9 black-tie gala will unveil the Arizona premiere, and be the North American debut, of the featured exhibition Da Vinci – The Genius. Created by Grande Exhibitions of Australia, with assistance from da Vinci experts in Italy and France, the exhibition features 13 themed areas of da Vinci’s work, offering visitors a look inside the mind of the ultimate Renaissance man.

Proceeds from the gala benefit the Science Center’s educational STEM programs.

The Arizona Republic and J.P. Morgan Chase are the event sponsors, and Sue Glawe, vice president of community relations of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, is its chair.
