New in Town: Creative Cocktails and Shareable Plates at St. Urban

One of the newest additions to the lively restaurant scene on Seventh Street in Uptown Phoenix is St. Urban, which offers light bites, handcrafted cocktails and elevated city and mountain views.

Common Ground Culinary opened St. Urban in September, right above Neighborly Public House, which opened in November 2021. Founded in 2011, Common Ground Culinary has nine concepts throughout Phoenix and Scottsdale, including The Collins, The Macintosh, Sweet Provisions ice cream parlor and bakery, Arcadia Catering Company and Collins Bros. Chophouse, which opened in Scottsdale in July.

“St. Urban is one of our most unique, exciting concepts yet,” said Christopher Collins, chef and owner of Common Ground Culinary. “Stylish yet approachable, it’s the perfect place for casual cocktails with friends or a romantic dinner date, and a great complement to its downstairs companion, Neighborly Public House.”

St. Urban’s small plates include a French onion skillet, cold smoked salmon tartare, chicken liver pate with spicy tomato jam, and oysters served with classic mignonette sauce or with grapefruit, mint and Fresno peppers. The menu also includes a variety of flatbreads, wild mushroom lasagna and spitfire chicken breast with mushrooms and whipped potatoes.

St. Urban is a great spot for cocktails with signature offerings such as Blank Vieux with lemongrass-infused gin, Crown Jewels with bourbon and mint syrup, and French Kiss, featuring coffee-infused vodka and cinnamon-infused Cointreau.

If you are looking for a relaxing and refined experience with upscale food and libations, visit St. Urban, which is open Tuesday through Saturday at 4 p.m. with happy hour specials from 4-6 p.m.
