notMYkid Announces Kristen Polin as New CEO

Arizona-based notMYkid, a nationally focused non-profit organization focused on empowering and educating youth, families, and communities with the knowledge and courage to identify and prevent negative youth behavior, announced Kristen L. Polin as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Polin has more 22 years of experience in nonprofit management and returns to notMYkid following a one-year hiatus serving as Chief Operating Officer for True Mobile Health, a tech startup for addiction recovery.

“My return to notMYkid to serve as the new CEO is truly an honor. This is an amazing opportunity to lead this dynamic prevention organization into its twentieth year of service and deliver a comprehensive prevention continuum that educates and empowers youth and their families to overcome challenges and find their path,” Polin said. “We are entering new territory with an alarming increase in youth suicide, epidemic levels of youth vaping, and an opioid crisis that increases our resolve to do more and respond in even greater innovative ways.”

“We are delighted to have Kristen as our new CEO. Kristen’s leadership skills and prevention expertise will help propel notMYkid to even greater success as we continue to expand our mission,” said Seth Leibsohn, Chairman of the Board at notMYkid.  “Kristen is one of the best-known and most-respected preventionists in the state and we are excited to have her leadership, inspiration, and expertise to reach even more children and families across the country.”

Through its unique education models of peer-to-peer education where the organization addresses the life-changing issues such as substance abuse, bullying, unhealthy relationships, body image, depression/self-injury, and internet safety, notMYkid prepares children to face everyday challenges with courage and confidence.

Born in New York City and raised in Danbury, CT, Polin most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer at True Mobile Health. She returns to notMYkid from her former role as Vice President of Programs for nearly three years. Polin also served as Vice President of Community Relations & Development, at Community Bridges, Inc. leading prevention, family preservation, and community engagement for 17 consecutive years. A
