Heart Ball Kick-Off Brunch

HeartBall LogoThe 2013 Heart Ball Kick-Off Breakfast and Fashion Show was held on Wednesday, February 13, at Saks Fifth Avenue. True Food Kitchen provided fabulous heart-healthy food and antioxidant beverages, and the coffee bar provided by Vincent’s on Camelback served up delicious frothy drinks. White House Design Studio created the elegant floral décor.
Saks Fifth Avenue selected the American Heart Association as one of the local charities for their month long initiative in February in which they donate 5% of registered purchases.
The fashion show featured all the beautiful colors to include in your Spring wardrobe. Kick-Off committee included Jill Krigsten, Lauri Termansen, Krissie Brubaker, Nancy Bruner, Mari Lederman and Ina Manaster.
Susan Doria, 2013 Heart Ball Chairman and the ladies of her executive team, Vice Chairmen Jennifer Carmer and Chrissy Donnelly, Sweetheart Jane Christensen, and Chairman Elect, Brenda Howard opened the program with a surprise runway strut, touting the latest in designer sunglasses and handbags, and performed a choreographed routine that set the tone for the theme of this year’s Ball… “serendipity”.
Expect lots “happy discoveries” and good fortune as the 108 committee members begin the 54th year of planning and raising funds to help eradicate heart disease.
The 2013 Heart Ball Honorary Chairman, Sam Fox, spoke to the committee about his personal goal to make an impact on heart health in our state. As CEO of Fox Restaurant Concepts, Sam is partnering with the Phoenix Heart Ball to raise awareness by featuring heart-healthy menu options at a different Fox restaurant each month throughout the year. A portion of the proceeds from every heart-healthy meal purchased will be donated to the Phoenix Heart Ball on behalf of the American Heart Association.
This year’s Heart Ball will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013
