Uncorking a New Cottonwood

He didn’t know much about running a city when he took over as city manager of Cottonwood. But Doug Bartosh liked the wines made in the surrounding area and thought it would be nice if there could be some tasting rooms around. They could even occupy some of the vacant buildings downtown, he thought.

 

That idea has taken a tentative root over the past two years. Old Town Cottonwood has transformed itself from a sketchy stretch of street known more for crime than commerce to a growing tourist destination where unique businesses populate historic buildings.
