First Bite: Silvana in Scottsdale

The buzz surrounding Silvana, the much-anticipated new restaurant from chef Silvana Salcido Esparza, is so loud you may need to wear earmuffs.

That’s to be expected: Her long-running Barrio Café is one of the country’s great Mexican restaurants. Focusing now on what she calls the “elegant side of Mexican cuisine,” she’s promised that “the sky is the limit” at her upmarket, white-tablecloth Scottsdale venue.
