Check, Please!

Here is your chance to get cooking tips from the pros – the best pros. James Beard Award winner Christopher Gross shares his culinary insight at Eight’s Check Please! Arizona Festival, a live food event at CityScape in downtown Phoenix. He joins fellow James Beard Award winner Robert McGrath, who will moderate a panel discussion about Phoenix emerging as a culinary destination, each chef’s unique culinary journey and the experience of receiving the James Beard honor.

Gross will also conduct a wine seminar.

Gross received the James Beard Award for Best Chef Southwest in 1995. He was most recently acclaimed for his Christopher’s & Crush Lounge, which was named one of the top 10 New Restaurants in the United States by Gayot.com. He has been named one of America’s 10 Best New Chefs by Food & Wine magazine and also was the first chef in Arizona to receive the Robert Mondavi Culinary Award of Excellence. He has been featured on numerous panels with Jacques Pepin and Julia Child at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen. And he was included in the book and PBS television series In Julia’s Kitchen with Master Chefs. Julia, of course, is Julia Child.
