14th Annual Tour de Scottsdale to Boost Conservation Group

The 14th Annual Tour de Scottsdale will take place on Sunday, October 8 to benefit McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, a nonprofit conservation organization that protects and promotes the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.
Since the event began — it has donated 100 percent of its sponsorship proceeds to the conservancy — raising nearly $500,000.
The tour, which will have 30 and 70 mile courses, will have nearly 2,000 participating cyclists — with some coming from as far away as Germany. The tour will begin at Market Street at DC Ranch. U.S. Paralympic para-cyclist, Todd Key, will also be participating.
The event will also feature an expo of small businesses and a performance by the band Rock Lobster.
The McDowell Sonoran Conservancy was founded in 1991 and works with the City of Scottsdale to manage and increase public awareness, education and appreciation of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.
