Tribute to Leadership is a special evening set aside to recognize the outstanding individuals who have given selflessly of their time and talent to make our community, and the world, a better place to live and work. On February 8, 2014, YWCA Metropolitan Phoenix will celebrate its 20th Anniversary Leadership Gala, bringing together community members who are committed to making a difference.
Every year since 1994, YWCA has asked the community to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of those individuals distinguished by their outstanding leadership and contributions to our community. This is your opportunity to nominate someone who has made a positive impact on you, your organization, and the community as a whole. This year’s eight Leadership award categories are: Advocacy, Community Service Corporate, Community Service Nonprofit, Education, Health & Science, Military or Armed Service, Public Service, and Racial Justice.
Nominees must meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities in the category for which they are nominated.
- Through their community involvement, embody the YWCA mission to eliminate discrimination, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
- Undertake projects that champion civil rights, diversity, inclusion and social justice.
- Live and/or work in Maricopa County.
- Commit to participate in the Tribute Video Program and the 2014 YWCA Tribute to Leadership Gala being held on February 8, 2014 at the Ritz-Carlton Phoenix.
