Breaking News: Andrea and Tom Evans Purchase Frontdoors News

Two Valley entrepreneurs have added to their portfolio by purchasing a prominent local online publication with an eye toward expanding its footprint.

Andrea and Tom Evans, owners of Evans Communications, a Phoenix-based public relations, marketing and event planning firm, have reached an agreement with Julia C. Patrick of Patrick Media Group to assume control of Frontdoors News as of February 1.

The new owners (formally EE Publishing, LLC) will work to expand the footprint of the popular online platform, which extensively covers Valley community and civic leaders, nonprofit organizations, social events and cultural events.

Andrea Evans will remain a Principal of Evans Communications but will also assume the role of Publisher of Frontdoors News. Evans Communications’ operations and staffing will not be affected by the purchase, and Tom Evans will continue to oversee day-to-day operations of the consulting firm and its broad client base.

“We are very grateful to Julia for providing us this opportunity to take the foundation and reputation she has built for Frontdoors News in the Valley and expand its presence and influence in the community,” Andrea Evans said. “The publication is already making such a positive contribution to the philanthropic community, and we are excited about adding our expertise to help it achieve its full potential.”

Patrick said she had been wanting to spend more of her time on the American Nonprofit Academy, which she founded in 2013, and said Andrea Evans is the perfect person to advance Frontdoors News into the future.

“Andrea is truly part of the next generation of leadership in the Valley, and I’m confident her energy and excitement will help make Frontdoors News stronger than it has ever been,” Patrick said. “I’m proud of working to create a publication founded on integrity and being a positive influence on our community, and I believe those ideals make Andrea an ideal fit to become the new Publisher.”

The new ownership will be working aggressively in the coming months to broaden Frontdoors News’ reach across its digital platforms, as well as expanding and enhancing the publication’s advertising base.
