Warners’ Celebrity Game Night Honors Fitzgerald, Raises $330K for Treasure House
Brenda and Kurt Warner and a packed house at The Van Buren honored Arizona Cardinals legend Larry Fitzgerald on Feb. 15 while raising more than $330,000 for Treasure House.
The second-annual Brenda & Kurt Warner’s Celebrity Game Night brought together a mixture of athletes and celebrities to play games with audience members to win prizes. The venue was decked out in Cardinal red with games spread throughout the building and the outdoor patio.
And, in a touching tribute, residents from Treasure House — a supportive community in the West Valley for young adults with cognitive disabilities — were given a standing ovation as the attendees heard how they are growing and thriving in their new environment.
“We’re incredibly pleased with the amount of money raised at Celebrity Game Night, but just as importantly, we were very moved by the outpouring of support and love shown toward the young people who live at Treasure House,” said Lauri Tanner, Interim CEO of Treasure House. “The residents were just beaming during and after the event. We’re so grateful to everyone in attendance for both their financial and their emotional support.”
Fitzgerald single-handedly helped raise more than $60,000 himself through his own generosity and gave a significant donation of his own as well. Fitzgerald was presented with a Treasure House key, hand-welded by Brenda Warner, a replica of which will also be displayed in the Treasure House entryway.
And Kurt Warner made the night of dozens of attendees by providing an opportunity to catch a Hall of Fame football thrown by the former quarterback himself — which raised more than $40,000 while providing some of the night’s funniest moments.
