Phoenix Theatre Applause! Gala VIP Cocktail Event
More than 60 supporters of theater, as well as Applause! Gala committee members, chairmen and honorees, gathered Sept. 22 to celebrate Phoenix Theatre’s Applause! Gala’s VIPs.
Jean Marley and Susie Wesley, chairmen, and Abby Traister and McKenna Wesley, vice chairmen, hosted a Broadway-themed soirée at Phoenix Theatre to raise excitement for the Oct. 21 fundraising event.
The evening featured New York City-themed catering by Jill and George Garcia and Miracle Mile Deli, followed by the performance of In the Heights that honorees were able to attend following the event.
At the Oct. 21 Gala, Carolyn and Craig Jackson will be awarded the Pope Humanitarian Award, Lynne Love and Karrin Kunasek Taylor the Woman Who Cares Award, the Hon. Neil Giuliano the Man of Character Award, Janet and Larry Read the Angels of the Art Award, and Pat McMahon the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Phoenix Theatre’s Applause! Gala will include a cocktail reception, plated dinner and a one-time-only performance, which celebrates this year’s honorees through their favorite musical theater songs. Proceeds support Phoenix Theatre’s work onstage as well as the organization’s education and community outreach programs.
