Fashions of the Digital Age Opening

Phoenix Art Museum opened Fashion of the Digital Age, an exhibition of high-fashion ensembles in contemporary print design on March 1 to a group of enthusiastic fashion lovers. The exhibition is in the Ellman Fashion Design Gallery and showcases designs by iconic and emerging talent such as Alexander McQueen, Mary Katranzou, Miuccia Prada ad Ralph Rucci.

All of the ensembles on view illustrate cutting edge advances in digital textile printing technology. Developing over the last two decades, digital technology has enabled designers to create a new range of prints in bold, eye-catching patterns and colors, which were not possible even a few seasons ago.

The opening included a lecture by Dennita Sewell, Fashion Design curator at Phoenix Art Museum. “This collection presents a rare opportunity to view some of the most innovative and vibrant works by today’s most creative fashion designers as a reflection of the artistry of today’s digital movement,” Sewell says.

The exhibit will be on view through July 14.
