9th Annual Ignite Hope
To spread light and love to Phoenix Children’s Hospital patients during a tough year, the community came together for the 9th annual Ignite Hope celebration Dec. 12. Taking place in a virtual format this year, the event raised almost $275,000 for the health, hope and healing at the hospital while bringing virtual cheer to those who need it most in 2020.
Participants showed their support by making donations and fundraising. Also, in purchasing special packets of Ignite Hope candles and luminarias, participants were able to shine their light throughout their neighborhoods, homes, yards, driveways and spark a conversation about Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s ongoing needs.
The Ignite Hope tradition began in 2012 by friends and family of then 15-year-old Phoenix Children’s patient Katie Wagner. The candlelight tradition lives on to brighten the lives of patients during the holiday while marshaling community spirit by raising funds for Phoenix Children’s.
