Beach Ball Takes Flight from New Venue, Raises $1 Million for Phoenix Children’s Hospital

Beach Ball, Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation’s soiree annually themed around a different world beach, moved to a new venue for its Feb. 27 gala. Jet Linx at Scottsdale Airpark proved to be the perfect point from which to depart for a Mexican adventure, as the event raised in excess of $1 million for the hospital’s new emergency department and Level 1 Trauma Center.

A sold-out crowd of 850 guests attired in their best beach looks was greeted by a Mariachi band before posing for photos, then enjoying cocktails and a silent auction before dinner. The menu showcased some of the flavors of Mexico: achiote braised chicken thigh stuffed with chorizo and Oaxaca cheese, along with citrus-grilled swordfish. Auctioneer Letitia Frye helped auction off four getaway packages. DJ Rani G + Special Guests provided the entertainment.

Blair Moffett and Taucha Silk co-chaired the evening. UnitedHealthcare and University of Phoenix were the presenting sponsors, Head To Toe Therapy sponsored the reception, and Discount Tire sponsored the After Splash Bash.
