At 102, This Charity Ball Never Gets Old
The Board of Visitors, Arizona’s oldest charitable organization, which was established nearly 110 years ago in 1908, hosted its 102nd Annual Charity Ball on April 8 at the JW Marriott Camelback.
“I am so proud to carry on the tradition of our organization’s cherished, signature fundraiser. This beautiful event is treasured by our Flower Girl families and guests who value our commitment to the needs of our community,” said Betsy Haenel, Charity Ball chairman.
The Board of Visitors’ Flower Girls are a group of high school seniors who are selected by the Board of Visitors to participate in a year of events, including the annual fashion show. Each year, the Flower Girls are presented by their fathers at the Annual Charity Ball.
Since it was founded, the Board of Visitors has granted over $19 million to local nonprofits that serve the healthcare needs of women, children and the elderly.
