600 Attend May 14 Night for Life Gala at Camelback Inn
Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS hosted Night for Life, its black-tie gala, May 14 at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn. More than 600 guests turned out for the fun evening to benefit the organization’s programs and services.
The affair included a cocktail reception, a silent auction and a live auction that included a Breitling watch and VIP treatment at the Breitling Beach Air Show, donated by Hyde Park Jewelers.
Resort chefs prepared an elegant meal that featured fig-glazed salmon and mascarpone artichoke mashed potatoes.
The evening honored Athia Hardt with the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Thanes Vanig received the Community Champion Award; Nicole Stanton and Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton were honored with the Outstanding Achievement Award; and Shereen and Michael Pollak of Hyde Park Jewelers received the Corporate Leadership Award.
Susan Casper of Sonoran Living on ABC 15 and CeCe Peniston, R & B recording artist, were co-emcees. Peniston and Evelyn “Champagne” King provided the entertainment. Yve Rojas, contestant on CBS’s Survivor Nicaragua, was the evening’s auctioneer.
Jamie Hormel and Christopher Gross co-chaired the gala.
