New organization hosts new event to promote Herberger Theater Center and its arts education and
youth outreach programs.
Almost 250 guests joined the newly established Herberger Theater’s Young Leadership Board at the Herberger Theater Center on Sept. 11 for its inaugural fundraising event, Stand Up For Downtown Theater. The new organization, chaired by Katherine May, is a semi-autonomous group with an interest in promoting the Center and its arts education and youth outreach programs, as well as the broader Phoenix arts community.
The festive evening included live performances by some of Arizona’s top comedians, including Gabe Biel, Michael Longfellow, Kass McPherson, Billy O’Connor, Danny Serrano and Danielle Williams. Sierra Bonita Grill catered dinner, and Copper Leaf Gastrolounge provided a variety of desserts for guests to enjoy. Vince Thiefain and John Weier provided the music.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Herberger Theater Centers’ arts education and outreach programs.
