Maricopa Health Foundation Presents Check to 100 Club

The Maricopa Health Foundation presented a $5,000 check to the 100 Club of Arizona on May 30. The money will establish a scholarship fund in honor of Jason Schechterle and the heroes involved with his lifesaving care. In 2001, Phoenix police officer Schechterle was badly burned when his car was rear-ended by a taxi. The scholarship donation was announced at the Maricopa Health Foundation Night of Heroes on April 27.

Almost 300 guests witnessed the heroic and inspiring stories of retired Phoenix police officer Schechterle, Dr. Daniel Caruso and Dr. Kevin Foster from the Arizona Burn Center at Maricopa Medical Center and Pat McGroder, the Arizona attorney who led the legal fight to help save other first responders nationwide.
