Homeward Bound Appoints New Executive Director

The Homeward Bound Board of Directors has named Becky Jackson as the agency’s new president and executive director.

Jackson joins Homeward Bound with more than 10 years’ experience in nonprofit leadership, most recently serving as president and CEO of ICAN: Positive Programs for Youth in Chandler. In addition to her nonprofit experience, she comes to the agency with a banking career spanning more than 30 years in Phoenix.

Barbara Ralston, the outgoing executive director, will stay on board as CEO through June 2016 before she officially retires. Under Ralston’s leadership, Homeward Bound has implemented best practices, expanded the agency’s services to include an education and employment center and increased the number of families served annually.

Derek Flottum, chairman of the board of directors, says Jackson’s energy and background make her the perfect candidate to continue Homeward Bound’s family-oriented programming that improves the lives of low-income Arizonans.

A passionate advocate for youth and families, Jackson has previously served on many community and professional boards, including Fresh Start Women’s Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, Cops ’n’ Kids, East Valley Hospitals Community Board, Chandler Education Foundation and Valley of the Sun United Way.
