Friendly House Hires New Vice President of Admin and Community Services

Friendly House Inc. recently appointed Charlene T. Basquez as the new vice president of administration and community affairs. The nonprofit agency began serving the community in 1920 with the mission of empowering Arizona communities through education and human services.

In her new role, Vasquez will contribute to the overall strategic direction of Friendly House, foster productive relationships within the local community and collaboratively lead initiatives and relationships within Friendly house.

Prior to her appointment, Vasquez held a position as the director of cultural relations in the Office of University Affairs at Arizona State University, where she served as a liaison for the Hispanic community. Vasquez was responsible for the Cesar Chavez Programs, which include the Cesar Chavez Leadership Institute and Hispanic Convocations, the State of Latino Arizona publications, as well as clean elections and community outreach.

She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that is going to showcase the great work that Friendly House does in the community, and will help us take this great long-standing organization to new levels,” says Martin Quintana, Friendly House CEO.

She has more than 20 years of marketing and communications experience, and has worked as the senior director for the Arizona Diamondbacks, managing two departments. Prior to working for the Diamondbacks, she was the director of equal employment opportunity and community relations for KTAR/KKLT radio.
