GlitzGlamGive Gala Raises $200K for the Arthritis Foundation
Guests arrived red-carpet ready for the GlitzGlamGive Gala, an Oscar viewing party benefiting the Arthritis Foundation. The Feb. 28 event at the Arizona Biltmore kicked off with a “Star Wars” performance by Rolfs Salon. Petra Watjen of B2B CFO, and Liz Dawn, CEO of Mishka Productions, co-chaired the event, which raised more than $212,500. Red Carpet and Hollywood sponsors included ABC15, Gila River Casinos, ROLFS, HonorHealth, OrthoArizona and Ortho Development Corporation.
Former Chicago Cubs pitcher, Cy Young winner and Baseball hall of Famer Fergie Jenkins was honored for his commitment to stay active on and off the playing field. As an athlete, Jenkins excelled in baseball, and he also played hockey and was on the Harlem Globetrotters. Jenkins has had arthritis since his 20s.
Orthopedic surgeon John K. Bradway was honored for his dedication to diagnose and treat people with arthritic conditions.
Nessa Bear, age 9, was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis in 2014 and is the 2016 Youth Honoree. Camp Cruz and Camp ILA have helped Nessa find the hope she desperately needed and an opportunity to do something meaningful and positive with her arthritis.
The Annual GlitzGlamGive Gala raises funds to support the Arthritis Foundation’s advocacy and access to medical care and treatments; scientific discovery and research to find better treatments and ultimately a cure for arthritis; help and support including education and resources; and juvenile arthritis.
