Applause! Gala Cocktail Kickoff
Phoenix Theatre held its Applause! kick-off party April 28 at the Phoenix Country Club home of chair Deanna Clarkson Smith and her husband Bob Smith. Guests enjoyed a live performance and Greek-inspired bites served by Michael Mazzocco of the Herb Box Catering.
Clarkson Smith, event chairman, gave the gala a running start by garnering more than $50,000 in pledges for the October event.
The honorees for the 2017 gala were introduced at the event. Billie Jo and Judd Herberger will be recognized with the Pope Humanitarian Award; Nan Howlett, the Woman Who Cares Award, Dr. P. David Adelson, the Man of Character Award; Jill and George Garcia, the Angels of the Art Award; and Dr. Oliver and Sharon Harper, the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Phoenix Theatre’s Applause! Gala will take place Oct. 21. The event offers guests a cocktail reception, plated dinner and a one-time only performance that celebrates honorees through their favorite musical theater songs. Proceeds will support Phoenix Theatre’s work onstage as well as its education and community outreach programs.
