A ‘Bright Night’ at Phoenix Art Museum
Following the success of last year’s White Night, which ushered in Phoenix Art Museum’s fashion exhibition The White Shirt According to Me Gianfranco Ferré, for 2016, organizers created Bright Night. This year’s Oct. 28 fundraising soirée coincided with the special-engagement exhibition, Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic. The exhibition was the centerpiece of the evening and featured a mid-career retrospective of the prolific artist’s work, 14 years in the making.
Along with the exhibition of Wiley’s artwork, Bright Night offered a culinary and musical celebration with custom cocktails and fine wine, hors d’oeuvres and small plates, crafted by M Catering.
Guests, in their most colorful attire, reflected the spirit of the evening as they enjoyed the ambiance of bright floral designs and the musical sounds of steel drum band Paul McDermand, DJ Joey Torres and Broadway revue West Coast Music inside the tropical lounge.
The event raised more than $500,000 in support of Phoenix Art Museum. Bright Night was presented by the Phoenix Art Museum Board of Trustees and Amada Cruz, the Sybil Harrington Director.
