One.n.ten LGBTQ Youth Center Awarded $10K After Fire Forces Closure

Arizona Community Foundation’s Center for LGBTQ Philanthropy has awarded One.n.ten LGBTQ Youth Center $10,000 following a fire on July 12 that forced the organization to close.
“We were saddened to hear about the fire at One.n.ten,” said Sheila Kloefkorn, Chair of the Center for LGBTQ Philanthropy. “They provide essential services to LGBTQ youth. We are glad to be able to donate $10,000 in emergency aid from the Center for LGBTQ Philanthropy to help One.n.ten recover from this loss.”
The funds will help One.n.ten with help with providing immediate financial assistance and supply emergency operating costs to recreate a home for the youth and young adults ages 14 to 24-years-old who utilized the center to stay engaged in their community.
The Phoenix-based nonprofit aims to enhance the lives of those in the LGBTQ  by providing empowering programs that promote self-expression, self- acceptance, leadership development and healthy life choices.
For now, these programs will resume immediately at The Parsons Center for Health and Wellness thanks to the support of the Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS.
The Arizona Community Foundation’s Center for LGBTQ Philanthropy supports the community by connecting donors with organizations in need of support, offering ongoing educational workshops, seminars and special events that unite LGTQ individuals, allied professionals and nonprofits.
