Bret Michaels’ #HotRocksChallenge Awarding $10K to Winner’s Charity of Choice

He gave the world “Something to Believe In” when he rose to the top of the rock charts and stayed there for decades, and now, he’s doing it again by offering up $10,000 for charity through his #HotRocksChallenge.

Longtime Scottsdale resident and iconic rock musician Bret Michaels has long been a fixture on the local philanthropy scene, and the lifelong diabetic and brain hemorrhage survivor is now calling on community members to “show their moves for views” ahead of the March 15 release of his upcoming single, “Unbroken,” and his new album bearing the same name.

Dubbed the #HotRocksChallenge, the competition asks entrants to create a 15-to-60-second video showcasing their best or funniest dance moves before uploading it to Instagram tagging @bretmichaelsofficial and using the hashtags #hotrockschallenge #unbroken #bretmichaels and #contest. From the uploaded entries, Bret will select one lucky winner based on dance moves, the number of views received and the overall creativity of the submission.

The winning dancer will receive a $10,000 donation from Michaels’ Life Rocks Foundation to give his or her charity or nonprofit of choice. And, he or she will also get the full VIP treatment on a two-day Rockstar getaway to see Michaels on tour at a show of the winner’s choice.

The #HotRocksChallenge is the latest effort made by Michaels in support of his hometown and the surrounding community, many of which cater to children and others who, like Bret, live with diabetes. All #HotRocksChallenge entries must hit Instagram prior to Friday, March 15, which is the day Michaels will not only announce the winner, but debut his new single, “Unbroken,” which he authored and recorded alongside his youngest daughter, Jorja Bleu.
