Candidates were chose from a field of 19 participants who presented speeches and participated in one-on-one and panel interviews with judges. Participants developed writing speaking and presenting skills to prepare for the judging.

The 2018 BGCS Youth of the Year will be named at the Celebrate Youth at Blue Door Ball gala on February 23, 2018 at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge. The recipient will represent the clubs throughout the year and will receive a $5,000 scholarship. They will also be eligible for the state title.
