‘Black Nativity’ Performances Extended Due to High Demand
Last year, the production written by Harlem Renaissance poet Langston Hughes sold out with this year’s event promising new musical selections, dynamic gospel choruses, soloists and dance ensembles.
The production was first performed in New York in the 1960s and brings a message of joy, hope, victory and liberation.
Black Nativity is directed by David J. Hemphill with choreography by Anna Jones. The music staff includes musical director George Johnson, musical supervisor George Johnson and musical coordinator Robert Body.
